Barbara Tarry

TARRY: Barbara Winnifred was born in Souris, MB on February 14, 1915 to Fred and Maude Hayes, and was sister to Cliff, Howard, Betty, Allen, Phyllis and Bob Hayes. She was raised in Wynyard, SK where she excelled in school and sports. While in high school, she met her husband Len Tarry with whom she performed in musical groups and worked at church activities. They were married in 1939 and moved to Swift Current, SK in 1942. Len worked for the Sask Power Corp and was superintendent of the power plant until his passing in 1967. Barb is predeceased by her husband Len; son Fred in 1974; and grandson Allan on 2005. In Swift Current, Barb raised her four children Janice (John), David (Gene), Fred (Penny), and Rhonda (Gerald). She was active in the Swift Current Junior Band, St. Stephen's Anglican Church, and Lion's Ladies Service Club. She was a wonderful baker, gardener, sewer as well as a crochet expert and flower arranger. Many of the Flower arrangements won prizes at the horticultural show. Barb was proud of living until the age of 100 and celebrated this occasion with many friends on February 14, 2015. She leaves seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and her three children. Donations in Barb's memory may be made to the 605 Tarry Royal Air Cadet Squadron Memorial Donation P.O. Box 71 Swift Current, SK S9H 3V5. The Funeral Service was held on Saturday July 25, 2015 from St. Stephan's Anglican Church with Reverend Eleanor Rockabar officiating. The Interment Service took Place in Mount Pleasant Burial Park.
