Harley Hatt

HATT, HARLEY
Peacefully at the Fundy Nursing Home, Blacks Harbour, NB on July 29, 2015, Harley Hatt, husband of Eudora (Justason) Hatt of Pennfield NB. Born at St. George, NB on January 7, 1925, he was a son of the late Curtis and Flossie (Holland) Hatt.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, in addition to his wife, Eudora, Harley is survived by three sons: Larry Hatt (Kitty Donelan) and Gregory (Barbara) Hatt both of Fredericton, NB and Timothy (Wanda) Hatt of Pennfield, NB; one daughter: Laurel (Edward) Phillips of Hampton, NB; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law: Thelma Hatt, Nonnie Hatt and Royetta Hatt; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Harley was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was predeceased by seven brothers and six sisters.
Prior to retirement Harley worked as a Mechanic for Connor's Brothers in Blacks Harbour for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed both fishing and hunting and lost count of all the Moose he tagged over the years. He was known in his family as the Mr. Fix It and even in his older days was determined to help his family any way he could. Harley was a local proprietor having owned B & N Service Station in Utopia and the Pennfield Sports Center which he took pride in owing with his wife, Eudora. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge # 12 F & AM in St. George and was a longtime member of the Pennfield Baptist Church. He will be sadly missed but forever loved by his family and many friends.
Arrangements in the care of the St. George Funeral Home (755-3533) 26 Portage Street, St. George, NB. Resting at the Pennfield Baptist Church, Pennfield, NB with visiting on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. The service will be held from the church on Saturday at 2:00 pm with Rev. Reg Ward officiating followed by the interment in the church cemetery. A Masonic Lodge Tribute Service will be held at the church on Friday at 8:00 pm.
In Harley's memory, donations to the Fundy Nursing Home would be greatly appreciated by the family.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff at the Charlotte County Hospital, Second Floor, as well as the staff at the Fundy Nursing Home for all their care and compassion shown not only to Harley but to themselves over this passed while. Your kindness will never be forgotten.
