EDLING, DONALD
The death of Donald Edling, age 85, of Hampton, NB, husband of Doris (Hughes), occurred peacefully on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Donald was born on September 13, 1929 in Woodstock, NB, a son of the late Sidney and Ruby (Post) Edling.
He is survived by his wife Doris; daughter Julie McMillan (David) of Tatamagouche, NS; sons Tyler Edling (Christine) of Keswick, ON and David Edling (Dorothy) of Sussex, NB ; brother Charles Edling (Irene) of Pearsonville, NB; and six grandchildren Kieran, Shannon, Cameron, Brandon, Makayla and Jillian.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his brother Sterling.
Donald served as a Forest Ranger for 37 years for Natural Resources and was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church. He was a very gentle and caring man who loved his Family.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses of the Saint John Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit and special thanks to Dr. Eileen Quinn. Thank you to the Forest Rangers who visited dad in his last few days, his bowling team and his church members.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home, 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB (506) 832-5541. As per the family’s request, no public visitation will be held. A graveside service will be held on Friday August 7, 2015 at St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Hampton, NB at 11:00 AM.
Donations in memory of Donald may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
