We regretfully announce the passing of Kelsey (Iannetti) MacDonald, 18, on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2015, at the Halifax Infirmary, after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on March 23, 1997, she is survived by her loving parents, Scott and Amy MacDonald; loving brother, Aiden; ever loving Poppy, Brian and Nanny, Joanne; paternal grandparents, William (Ding) and Edna MacDonald of Florence.
A recent graduate of Memorial High School in Sydney Mines, Kelsey’s future plans included becoming a veterinarian’s assistant. Kelsey had a love for animals, especially her dog, Tyson. Kelsey could be seen around Redwood Stables and Sunrise Stables, where she was an avid Western rider. Kelsey’s greatest dream was to someday own her own horse, which she endlessly begged her “Poppy” to buy her.
She will be sadly missed by her uncles, Jason Iannetti (Amy Lyn), Gerard (Debbie), Shawn (Kim), Brian (Cheryl), and aunts, Geralyn (Grant), Heather (George Myres) and Charmaine (Cheryl).
In addition to her family, who loved her dearly, she will be greatly missed by a large, close group of friends, and her boyfriend, Dan Tweedie. Kelsey will also be fondly remembered by her extended family, and many cousins who cared for her deeply.
She was predeceased by her great-grandparents, Joseph and Nina Iannetti, Harold and Elizabeth MacDonald, David and Morley Potter, and Samuel and Ethel Keeling.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of J. M. Jobes Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be held Saturday, Aug. 22, 2015, at 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Main Street, Sydney Mines, with Fr. James Oliver officiating.
Family flowers only, please. Donations in Kelsey’s memory may be made to the Children’s Wish Foundation.
