It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Teresa (Bown) Watson on Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at the Northside Community Guest Home. She would have been 92 on Nov. 23 of this year.
Until her recent decline in health and the death of her husband Bruce two years ago this summer, she lived in her home in Point Edward. It was there that she raised her family, enjoyed visitors, and found pleasure in the day to day things, whether meals of fresh vegetables Bruce would bring from the garden, watching for hummingbirds at the feeders, or just looking out over the water.
She is survived by her son Kirk, his wife Barbara and grandchildren Shelby and Craig all living in Point Edward, and her son Barry, his wife Karen and granddaughter Kaitie living in Toronto and grandson Edward, living in Vancouver. She is also survived by her very close niece, Sandra Inkpen, living in Sydney.
Teresa was born in Sydney, the daughter of Mary and John Bown. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Joey, Donnie and Sandy, and sister Anna.
The family would like to thank Homecare, the staff of Harbourstone Enhanced Care, the staff at the Northside Community Guest Home, as well as the doctors and nurses who cared for her over the years.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25th from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Laura McCue officiating. Reception to follow. Interment to take place in St. John's Anglican Cemetery, Point Edward.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of S.W. Chant & Son Funeral Home.
