John Horridge

HORRIDGE, John –aged 86 of Wilmot, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Born in Bolton, England, he was a son of the late Thomas and Elizabeth (Clegg) Horridge. In his early years, John served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a Chief Petty Officer. In 1987 he founded Nova Millwrights in Middleton. John was an avid golfer, reader and history buff. John will be remembered by his family as being very loyal and generous and will be sadly missed by many. He is survived by daughters, Emily (David) Fenn, St. Thomas, ON; Linda Horridge, Oshawa, ON; Debra (Al) Poirier, Aylesford, NS; Susan (Keith) Nuzum, Hamilton, ON; Laura Horridge (Steve Chute), Nictaux, NS; son, Stephen (Sherry Keddy), Harmony, NS; sisters, Emily Dewhurst and Nora Hunt, both of England; 15 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Pauline and brother, Bill, England. Visitation was held Sunday, August 30, 2015 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main Street (902) 825-3448. A private family graveside service was held Monday, August 31, 2015 in Fairview Cemetery, Lawrencetown with Rev. Sarah Scott officiating. By request, family flowers only. Donations in memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society-Nova Scotia Division or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
