Margaret Wall

Margaret Wall

Margaret Wall, age 85, passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015, at 1:12 am, with her family at her side…we heard the train whistle blow the second Mom took her last breath. Our beloved wife, momma, grandma and friend boarded the train for Glory, where her Master was waiting to usher her in! Though we will miss her greatly, we celebrate that she is with Jesus, in her eternal home...no more pain, no more shortness of breath, no more suffering! Mom was born on April 24, 1930, to Margaret & Abram Zacharias, on the family farm near McMahon, SK. She attended school in McMahon, but had to quit early when her dad passed away, to help out on the family farm. At the age of 9, she was already able to bake bread on her own. Mom married the love of her life, our dad and grandpa, George Wall, on July 24, 1955, in Swift Current. Mom & Dad moved to Stewart Valley in 1961, where they started the family farm. Dad said times were tough, but she stuck with him. Mom was a homemaker and never sat idle. She was not only a fabulous cook, baker and seamstress, but also helped dad with picking rocks, loading bales, hauling grain or whatever else was required. She loved her neighbours in the Stewart Valley community and they always attended the birthday club celebrations. In 1987, Mom & Dad moved off the family farm. Mom enjoyed her years living in Swift Current. She loved being near her grandchildren...and she loved every single one unconditionally. She babysat all of the grandchildren from 1989 until they were all in school. Mom loved all her kids and grandchildren equally, never showing favouritism. She loved her sons-in-law, Mark and Dale, and her daughter-in-law, Tracey, as her own children. She prayed for everyone, that they would all come to know and love the Lord as she did. Mom loved to garden, quilt, crochet, and knit. She was famous for her pies, donuts, buns and especially her perogies. When Grandma made perogies and cream gravy, the whole family came, mouths watering. Mom loved all sports and never missed one of her grandchildren's games. She was an avid Blue Jays fan, and enjoyed the Swift Current Indians baseball games, especially when her grandson Cody was playing. She was also a season ticket holder to the Swift Current Bronco games. Mom & Dad enjoyed travelling to Branson for the country music: Minneapolis and Seattle to watch the Blue Jays: Creston, BC to pick-up fruit, and to the Carlsbad Caverns to sight-see. On July 24th of this year Mom & Dad celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. On July 23rd, Mom received a terminal diagnosis, and when we asked if she still wanted to go for their anniversary supper, as we had planned, she said "of course!" She never complained and wanted everything to remain as it was. She was always thinking of others before herself, and she didn't want anyone to feel the hurt. In her last days we tried to keep life as normal as possible. Grandma, in her chair, surrounded by family, cheering for the Blue Jays! She didn't want anyone to make a fuss. She didn't want anyone to cry. As each of her grandchildren were able to visit her that last week, we heard her comfort them over and over again, saying, "I'll be okay, don't cry, it'll soon be over. I'll see you again in heaven someday." Dad, her faithful husband, stayed with her until her last breath. He loved her with all of his heart, and is going to miss her desperately. He knows he will see her in Heaven one day. Margaret leaves to cherish her memory, her beloved husband of 60 years, George; children, Lorelei (Mark) Andreas, their children: Kyle (Krissy Remin), Keegan (Paige Meyer); Renee (Dale) Hovdestad, their children: Cody (Kaylee Thomson), Scott, Ashley (Joel) Monette; Darcy (Tracey) Wall, and their children: Jevon (Kendra Kyle), Amber Wall; siblings, Frank (Susie) Zacharias, Anna Dyck, Dave (Verdella) Zacharias, Ed (Erna) Zacharias; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Abraham & Margaret (Loeppky) Zacharias; sister & brother-in-law, Susie (Dave) Martens; brothers, Frank Zacharias (in infancy), Abraham (Agnes Peters) Zacharias, John Zacharias (in infancy), John (Doreen Gledhill) Zacharias, Peter Zacharias; and by brother-in-law, Jake Dyck.
