MATHER, AARON
On September 5, 2015, death claimed an unforgettable human being. Aaron Mather of Moncton, N.B. died suddenly one week before his forty-fourth birthday.
Aaron is the son of David and Ruth Mather of Tide Head, N. B. where he grew up and attended school, graduating from the Sugarloaf Senior High in 1989. Lisa Martin, formerly of Listuguj, Quebec, was the love of his life, and the center of Aaron’s world. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Tawnie Mather Martin, on October 24, 1992. The three of them were a loving and supportive trio which gave them the strength to face the ups and downs of life. The people that filled Aaron’s world were his main focus during his too short life. He was a people person. Aaron was close to his brother, Andrew Mather (Angela Ross) of Saint John, N.B. and his sister, Laura Mather, of Halifax, N. S. Honorary Mather family member, Shawn Dickson (Tanya) of Moncton, N.B., was like a brother to Aaron from childhood days onward. Aaron will be remembered by other family members including Andy’s daughters, Andrea and Paige of Saint John, N.B. and Aunt Donna (wife of the late Ian Mather), of Miramichi and their three children (Vonda, James, and Jeffery) who Aaron often got to spent time with as he was growing up. On his mother’s side Aaron has four uncles, six aunts, and fifteen first cousins: David and Linda Steeves of Charlottetown, P.E.I.; Michael Steeves and Elena Zanetti of Toronto, Ont.; Sandra Turner of Hillsborough, N.B.; Catherine and Richard Porter of Moncton, N.B.; Nancy Steeves, Moncton, N.B. and Alexander and Shirley Steeves of Halifax, N.S. Lisa’s parents, Frank and Cecile Martin of Listuguj, and all her family will miss Aaron. Their love will help Lisa and Tawnie through this terrible time.
Aaron’s first long term employment was with Cold Spring Camp. The late Norman Lyons was Aaron’s first boss and mentor who taught Aaron much about life and work. Aaron went on to complete an IT course at the Atlantic Business College in Fredericton. He was currently working as a technical support engineer for Hewlett Packard in Fredericton, N.B. He worked in collaboration with many competent people over the years. Some co-workers became his good friends.
Aaron was an active and athletic person who loved being outdoors. Golf was his passion and he played as often as he could. This activity also gave him the opportunity to make more wonderful friends.
A funeral service will be held at the Saint Andrews United Church, Tide Head on Friday, September 11, at 2:00 pm. Visitations at Maher’s Funeral Home, 33 Lansdowne St., Campbellton, are on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00. The visitation on Friday is at the St. Andrews United Church, Tide Head from 1:00 pm until the time of the funeral.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Canadian Diabetic Association would be appreciated by the family.
