Andrew James Fraser age 80 of Glen Haven Manor, New Glasgow formerly of Kerrowgare Road, Garden of Eden, NS passed away September 18, 2015 in the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. Born in Garden of Eden he was a son of the late John James and Barbara Jane (Inglis) Fraser.
Andrew was a resident of Garden of Eden all his life where he worked as a woodsman and operated a Christmas tree farm for many years. He had a tremendous love and respect for the outdoors, planting and tending his garden in springtime, cutting pulp, trimming Christmas trees, working at the blueberries and trapping. Everyone who came to visit never left without a cup of tea and a cookie. He enjoyed company and loved to laugh.
He is survived by sisters Jessie MacInnis (Walter), Meiklefield and children Ritchie and Royce; Dorothy (Arnold) Chisholm, Linacy and children Joyce and Donna; brother Calvin (Mary) Fraser, Garden of Eden and children John Andrew and Susie; many grand-nieces, grand-nephews and many close friends.
He was predeceased by a brother John and a sister Joyce.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Monday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home, New Glasgow. Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday in the H.W. Angus Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dr. Kenneth MacLeod officiating. A reception will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Garden of Eden Cemetery. Donations may be made to Blair Presbyterian Church, Garden of Eden.
