McFARLANE, FLORENCE
It is with great sadness that the family announce the passing of Florence L. McFarlane of Sussex, wife of the late Hazen McFarlane, which occurred on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at her residence. Born at Knightville on September 25, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Irvine and Adelia (Leake) Coates.
Florence loved her flowers, both inside and outside, and never missed attending church until she became ill. However, her greatest joy in life was her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Florence is survived by two daughters, Heather Gregg (Jack) of Millstream and Sharon Callaghan (John) of Norton; grandchildren Rebecca Gregg (Jeff Thompson), Tony Gregg (Colleen Morrison), Trevor Callaghan, and Aaron Callaghan; a brother, Irvine Coates (Jessie) of Sussex; a sister, Adelia Mercer (Maynard) of Sussex; a brother-in-law, Norman McFarlane (Cynthia) of Saint John; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Florence was predeceased by brothers John Coates (Edith) and Andrew Coates (Florence); sisters Annie Floyd (Frank), Jane Carll (Raymond), and Doris Boyko (Alex); and by a brother-in-law, William McFarlane (Olive).
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of Sussex Select Community Funeral Home, 21 Aiton Road, Sussex (506) 433-2133. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 PM. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at 2:30 PM from the Atlantic Community Church, 78 Route 880, Apohaqui. Interment will take place in Evergreen Memorial Park.
For those who wish, remembrances to the Atlantic Community Church or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
