NEWELL, Freda June, 90, West Head, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at Roseway Hospital, Shelburne. Born June 4, 1925 she was a daughter of the late Spencer and Carrie (Penney) Smith. Freda was very involved in her church. She was a loving mother and grandmother and greatly enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her sons, Billy (Lois) Newell, Newellton; Dwayne (Renee) Newell, Clark’s Harbour; daughter, Lorraine (Barry) Bower, Saint John, NB; sister, Kathleen Atwood, Roseway Manor; grandchildren, Christopher Bower, BC; Lisa Newell-Devine, Plymouth; Twila (Dale) Stairs, Moncton, NB; Troy (Nicole) Newell, Beaverdam; Jon-Michael (Janelle) Newell, Sydney, AUS; Andrew (Shana) Newell, Newellton; and 12 great-grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Milton Newell; brothers, Donald, Vernon, Fredrick, Norman; sisters, Elizabeth and Josephine. There will be a visitation Friday from 7-9 p.m. at the H. M. Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington. The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 17, 2 p.m. at the West Head Wesleyan Church with Richard McAdams officiating. Interment to follow in the West Head Cemetery, West Head. It has been requested there be family flowers only; in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the West Head Cemetery.
