Margaret Anne Keith Margaret Anne Keith

Lieu de naissance : Moncton, Nouveau Brunswick, Canada

Lieu de décès : Sydney
Date de décès : 10 novembre 2015

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Anne Keith (nee McLatchy) on Nov. 10, 2015 surrounded by her loving family at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Margaret is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Thornton; daughter, Cheryl, Sydney; sons, Bruce, Westmount, Greg, Calgary Alta., Jamie, Sydney, David (Nadine), Halifax; grandchildren, Andrew, Jonathan, Derek (Leigha), Kaden, and great-grandchild, Landon; sister, Joyce (Neil) Beecroft, Fort Myers, Florida; brother, Malcolm (Deidre), Perth-Andover, N.B. and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, Ingram Bishop McLatchy & Jessie Mildred McLatchy from New Brunswick.
Margaret was a registered nurse completing her degree in 1959 at the Moncton City Hospital in New Brunswick. She caringly worked for 25 years in various hospitals including Moncton, Truro and Sydney; retiring early when diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
She was a woman of great faith and was an active member of the United Baptist Church. She was the president of the Jean Armstrong Missionary Society until her passing, was active within the Bethel Presbyterian Ladies Bible study for over 35 years and she also held various other positions within these communities throughout her life.
No matter the obstacle or challenge that life presented she continued to smile and remind us that there were others worse off in this world. Her strength was enough for us all.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the nursing staff and doctors at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, especially the Palliative Care Unit, the VON and County Homemakers for many years of providing care and comfort while at home, the staff at the Handi-Trans for providing transportation for the family and The Cove for providing care for her children.
At Margaret's request cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 13th at the United Heritage Church, Sydney, N.S; with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the MS Society or to the United Heritage Church.
