Susan Heinrichs

Susan Heinrichs

Susan Heinrichs, age 95, went to be with the Lord on the morning of November 12, 2015 at the Herbert Integrated Facility. Susan was born on September 27, 1936 to Katherine & Jacob Ginter on a farm just south of Rush Lake in the Donnellyville area. Sadly, her father passed away before she was two years old, but the family stayed in the area and Susan completed her schooling at the Donnellyville School. Susan always spoke of how her mom would have her and her little brother at her knee reading the Bible and singing to them. Later on, the family moved to Herbert where she married Henry Heinrichs on June 27, 1936. They started their family and had nine children — John, Jake, Margaret, Ann, Frank, Sara, Helen, and Harry. Susan & Henry moved to Swift Current in 1952 and became actively involved in the Salvation Army. In 1968, they moved to Regina and continued to volunteer and teach Sunday school at the Salvation Army. Susan was a wonderful homemaker, usually starting her bun recipe at 5 or 6 in the morning until roughly three years ago when she slowed down with that. She loved baking, doing puzzles and having her family visit her. Henry passed away in 1988, they had been married for 52 years. Susan spent her last years with Firmin Schulz, they lived in Morse for a few years and later settled in Herbert. Firmin passed away July 25, 2015. Susan spent the last few months in the Herbert Integrated Facility where she was adored by many. Her wit and humour was contagious, and enjoyed by all who were blessed to have met her. Susan was predeceased by: her husband, Henry; her sons, Johnny, Harry (Debbie), Frank (Myrtle); her infant daughter, Helen; her parents, Katherine & Jacob Ginter; her siblings, Jake, John, Abe, Dave, Isaac, Katherine, Sadie, Pete, Barney, and by her half-brother, Abe Neibor. Susan is survived by: her children, Jake (Jeanette), Margaret (Gordon) Beisel, Ann (Morley) Tebb, Sara (Stan) Wall, Helen (Bud) Hamilton; her 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and by 9 great-great-grandchildren. The Funeral Service was held on Tuesday November 17, 2015 at 2:00 at the Grace Community Church in Herbert with Major Don Grad and Pastor Lyndon Epp officiating. The pianist for the service was Ruth Newton. “Old Rugged Cross,” “What A Day That Will Be,” “Jesus Loves Me,” and “Running Over” were sung by the congregation. The Eulogy was given by Jonah Sawatzky. Special music was brought by the great-grandchildren, singing “Where I Want To Go When I Die.” Tributes were shared by Susan’s children and grandchildren, followed by a photo slideshow. The ushers in the church were Logan Harder and Luke Sawatzky. The Interment Service was held at the Herbert Cemetery with Steven Tebb, Clay Bissett, Chris Wall, Trevor Wall, Kevin Wall, and Brett Hamilton serving as pallbearers. In memory of Susan Heinrichs, donations can be made to the Salvation Army (P.O. Box 2061 Swift Current, S9H 4M7). Funeral arrangements were in care of Swift Current Funeral Home, Swift Current, SK.
