Whitehead, Owen E. “Whitey” – age 83, Truro/Ottawa, passed away after a brief illness on November 18, 2015 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre, Truro with daughter, Patricia and family by his side. Born in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, he was the son of the late Richard and Dorothy Whitehead. Owen served in the Canadian Armed Forces, Signal Corps for 31 years and after retirement he served with the Commissionaires in Ottawa. He is survived by loving daughter, Patricia Ann, Ottawa; sisters, Ella Dearman, Ellershouse, Frances Morison, Three Mile Plains, Rhoda (Clayton) Campbell, Truro, Julia DeWolfe, Halifax, Pat (Gary) Cox, Truro, as well as many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Velma; brothers, Basil, Richard, Ronald. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in Harrowsmith Cemetery, Portland Township outside of Kingston, Ont. at a later date. Loving, special thanks to sister-in-law, Anna McCarthy and also special family friend, Lynn McNutt. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
