States, Dela Muriel “Dolly”, age 86, of Mount Denson, Hants County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 19, 2015, at the Windsor Elms Village, Falmouth, with family by her side. Born on February 18, 1929, in Newport Station, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Gordon and Maude (States) Hamilton. Dolly had worked for over 26 years, at Kings-Edgehill School, Windsor. She especially enjoyed dancing, family gatherings and loved to have her family around at all their functions. Dolly is survived by her children, Laurie (Jackie) Hamilton, Toronto; Brenda Hamilton, Hantsport; Charlie (Donna), Sackville; Glenda (Edward) States, Mount Denson; Michael, Dartmouth; Alfred (Elaine), Mount Denson; Paulette (Derek) Holligan, Windsor; Willard (Charlotte), Kentville; William “Duke” (Pat), Newport Station; Sherry States, Mount Denson; Crystal (Kim) States, Vaughans; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; sisters, Jessie “Toot’s” Johnson, Kentville; Lotricia “Tessie” Chambers, Boston; Yvonne “Dimples” (Freddie) States, Newport Station; Patricia (Hugh) Blake, Toronto; Betty Hamilton, Toronto; brothers, Amos, Montreal, and Eugene (Carol), Toronto; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by husband, Laurie Russell States (2006); sons, Robert “Bobby”, Paul and infant son Bradford; brothers, Gordon “June” and James “Jim”; granddaughter Tara Lee. Visitations was 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Wednesday, November 25, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, B0N 2T0. Funeral service was 2 pm Thursday, November 26, 2015, in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Debra Mosher officiated, followed by interment at the Mount Denson Baptist Cemetery, Mount Denson. A reception was at the Royal Canadian Legion, Windsor. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to all the staff of the Windsor Elms, especially Linda and Paula, for all the care they have shown to Dolly.
