Florence Marie LaFaver, late of Prince Albert, SK, formerly of Christopher Lake, SK, passed away on December 4, 2015 in Prince Albert, SK at the age of 88 years. Florence was born on June 14, 1927 in Blaine Lake, SK to Narcisse and Florida Benoit. She was a long time citizen of Christopher Lake, being involved in the Legion, Curling Club and a devoted member of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed sharing the garden tasks with her 8 children, whom were all raised in Christopher Lake. Mom and Dad moved to Prince Albert when Dad experienced poor health, and resided there until her passing at the Herb Bassett Home. We, the family, would like to thank the Renal Nurses in both Prince Albert and Saskatoon, and the staff at the Herb Bassett and a special thank you to Dr. Gordon Surkan for the care shown to our mother. Florence will be lovingly remembered by her daughters: Sharon Hainstock, Denise (David) Miller, Elaine (Rick) Bruce, Yvonne (Gerald) Ernst, and Donna (Peter) French; her son: Glenn LaFaver; her grandchildren: Christopher, Carrie, Denni, Chad, Jody, Kirsten, Candace, Scott, Blair, Camille, Richelle, Charlie, Jessica, Steven, Wilson and Lane; her 15 great-grandchildren; her brother: Paul (Dorothy); her sisters: Lucy, Edna, and Alice; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Florence was predeceased by her husband: Lawrence (2010); her sons: Larry LaFaver (1981) and Ernest LaFaver (1981); her son-in-law: Duncan Hainstock (1985); as well as three sisters and two brothers. In lieu of other tributes, donations may be made in memory of Florence to the Renal Dialysis Unit, C/O Victoria Hospital Foundation, 1200 - 24th Street West, Box 3000 Stn. Main, Prince Albert, SK S6V 5T4. A Funeral Service for Florence will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 - 11:00 am, MacKenzie Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Street East, Prince Albert, SK with Father DJ Vu as Celebrant. Interment to follow at Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. After the interment, lunch will be served at the Prince Albert Royal Canadian Legion, 133 8th Street East, Prince Albert, SK.
