Nina Ritcey

Nina May (Conrad) Ritcey, of Saint John, wife of the late Philip R. Ritcey passed away on Sunday, December 6th, 2015 at the St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home. Born in Rose Bay, NS, on July 30th, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Lemuel and Ellen Conrad.
She is survived by two sons; David P. and his wife Louella of Sydney, NS, Philip A. and his wife Lori of Saint John, grandchildren; Lisa, Alan, Scott, Joanne, Jeremy, Bradley and Laura, several great-grandchildren, daughter-in-law Donna Ritcey of Woodtock as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Nina was predeceased by her sons Peter Douglas and Kenneth Leslie as well as six brothers and two sisters.
Nina was an active member of St. Mark’s United Church, a volunteer for music festivals in Halifax, Sydney, and Saint John, and was an avid badminton player involved in many clubs and tournaments.
Nina moved to Saint John with her husband in 1965 where her husband Philip was an officer in Charge with the Dept. of Communications for Southern NB and PEI.
At her request there will be no visitation. Following cremation a memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 10th, 2015, at St. Mark’s United Church 50 Dexter Drive, Saint John. A reception will follow in the church hall. Interment in Harwood Hill Cemetery, Sydney, NS at a later date.
No flowers by request. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
