JONES, Victoria (nee Bruce-Jordan). 1927 - 2015. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Victoria Jones in Montreal on November 29, 2015. Born in Dundee, Scotland where she attended the city's Morgan Academy on a scholarship, Victoria served in the Women's Land Army during WWII and had a strong work ethic throughout her life. She married Stephen Jones and the couple settled in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia in 1953 where her exceptionally caring nature led her to a long, rewarding career in nursing. Victoria (aka "Jonesy") retired from the Halifax County Regional Rehabilitation Centre in 1989 but continued to work for private nursing services for several years while living in the Annapolis Valley and came to Montreal to be closer to family in 2010. She loved dogs, reading, all things British on TV and spending quality time with family. Predeceased by her husband, she leaves to mourn her two sons Gordon (Joanne Hughes) and David (Serge Lavigne), grandson Kyle and many friends. Deeply missed, Victoria will long be remembered for her exemplary selflessness and remarkable fortitude. For memorial service info, please contact David Jones (dejones68@yahoo.com). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria Margaret Jones Memorial Award Fund at the Atlantic Veterinary College (Companion Animal Medicine) would be greatly appreciated. For info, please contact omalleykeyes@upei.ca. Special thanks to staff at CHSLD Vigi Reine-Élizabeth, St. Mary's Hospital and Gloria for their fine care.
