GARY S. HENAULT

GARY S. HENAULT

March 7, 1953 - December 19, 2015
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary Stephen Henault, age 62, on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital in Sechelt, BC. With brother Doug and sister-in-law Alison at his side, Gary left us peacefully after a long battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Gary was born in Winnipeg of Roland and Sylvia Henault on March 7, 1953, and grew up and went to school in St. Jean Baptiste, MB. While truly a "Manitoba boy" at heart, Gary always had the wandering bug and spent the last 25 years of his life in Gibsons, Madeira and Sechelt on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia. He had a love for tinkering and fixing things and was an accomplished vehicle, boat and aircraft mechanic as well as an expert clocksmith. Gary was a kind and gentle soul who lived a private and modest life, and will be fondly remembered by his mother Sylvia, his brothers Ray (Loraine), Doug (Alison) and Marc (Pam), his daughters Charlotte (Manny), Crystal (John) and Cindy (Robert), his many grandchildren, nephews and nieces, and his long list of friends in Manitoba and on the Sunshine Coast. He was predeceased by his father Roland. As we mourn Gary's loss, the Henault family extends it's sincerest appreciation to the staff of the Sunshine Coastal Addictions Program and to the doctors, nurses and staff of St. Mary's Hospital for the care and compassion that they afforded Gary throughout his illness, and during his final journey on December 18 and 19. Cremation will take place in Gibsons, BC. Gary's life will be celebrated in Winnipeg in early January 2016, in a private family ceremony.
