TERRY "TEETEE" RAINES

TERRY "TEETEE" RAINES

November 29, 1936 ~ December 10, 2015
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved TeeTee.
Terry was born in Vancouver, the first of two sons born to Charlotte and Mel Raines. Terry was a lively spirit who had an intense passion for fishing and gardening. In his earlier years he worked on the Ted Peck TV show Tides and Trails, in which he was a behind the scenes angler. Later Terry and his family moved permanently to the Sunshine Coast and he was a co-owner of Twin Creek Building Supplies and also owned Terry’s Gardening Centre. Terry and his brother Phil also had a very successful chartering business called Sur Catch charters, by which Terry earned himself the self proclaimed nickname “Sure Catch”.
In Terry’s later years he carried on with the Sur Catch business and serviced the Sunshine Coast marinas with many of their fishing rods, lures and accessories. Terry will be fondly remembered sitting in his living room tying thousands upon thousands of fishing hookups while watching the hummingbirds feed on his deck.
Terry is survived by his loving niece Christie (Paul) and their children Gavin and Emma, Terry’s sister-in-law Christine (Phil), his niece Tanya (Randy), their son Joshua, and Terry’s nephew Rodney.
The family would like to thank the many staff workers at Christenson Village for their many years of loving care.
The family is gathering at the Blackfish Pub on Saturday, January 9 at 1 p.m. to share a drink and some stories. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Salmon Enhancement Society in Terry’s name.
