It is with deep sadness and heartfelt loss that we announce the passing of a loving husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend, William ‘Billy’ H. Marks, on Dec. 27, 2015 at the age of 49.
Billy was the wonderful son of Helen (Marks) Malloy and the late William Marks.
He was born in Sydney Mines on March 2, 1966. He made his home in Florence for his entire life. As a young man, his hobbies were working on cars and carpentry. Later on he developed an interest in genealogy and antiquing, which became his great passions. Billy was employed at Nickerson’s fish plant followed by the Lake boats.
Billy is survived and will be greatly missed by his wife, his best friend and the love of his life Kim (Bonar) Marks; brothers Derek, Brampton, Sheldon (Joanne), Sydney; sister Denise (Derek), North Sydney; sister-in-law Bev, Margaree; parents-in-law, Carlie and Marie Bonar and family; special niece Carlene Reid; nieces and nephews; the Malloy family; and special friend Helen, Bill Barto and his family.
Besides his father and grandparents, Billy was predeceased by two sister in infancy, brother Brian Marks, nephew, Matthew Marks, stepfather Ed Malloy and niece Carrington Pentecost.
Visitation will be held in Fillmore & Whitman Funeral Home, 10 Clyde Ave., Sydney Mines, on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 1, 2016 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
