Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on January 4th, 2016 at the age of 81 years. Predeceased by his parents William and Stella Johnston; his brother Robert (Bertie); sisters Eleanor (Ryan), Margaret (Power); his father and mother-in-law Alfred and Catherine Sheehan. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 52 years, Annunciata (nee Sheehan). Michael also leaves to mourn his sister Josephine (Weatherdon), Anna (Windsor), his brother-in-law Patrick Sheehan, sisters-in-law Mary and Mechtilde Brophy. Also leaving to mourn a number of nieces and nephews, cousins, a large number of relatives and friends, especially his nieces Sharon Coady and Arlene Cutler. Resting at Fahey's Funeral Home, Fermeuse, January 5th from 7-9 pm, and Wednesday, January 6th from 2-9 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, January 7th at 11 am at Immaculate Conception Church in Calvert. Interment at Holy Trinity Cemetery, Ferryland.
