Passed away peacefully after a short illness at the L.A. Miller Centre on January 4, 2016. Predeceased by father Charles, stepfather Andrew Samuelson, mother Veronica, sister Debbie and brothers Robert and Keith. Leaving to mourn brothers Gus Samuelson, Andy Samuelson (Rita) and Paul "Sammy" Samuelson; sisters Elizabeth Walker, Ruth Porter Hart (Jim), Gail Miller Murray (Bill) and sister-in-law Betty Samuelson; only living uncle Harold Francis (Debbie) of Denver, Co.; aunt Rita Francis of Ontario; special cousins Paul Francis (Joan), Ellie Hynes (Wayne), Jim Barrett, Leslie Cake (Pat), Gary Cake (Elizabeth) and Glenn Cake (Cathy). Also a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and many, many friends. Charlie retired from St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto where he worked 30 plus years as an addictions counsellor - where he was well respected. Charlie was a well-known musician and the lead singer of the 4th Agreement who won Newfoundland's first ever Battle of the Bands. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road, on Wednesday, January 6th from 2-9 pm and Thursday, January 7th from 10 am - 4pm. Cremation to follow. Funeral Mass to take place from St. Patrick's Church on Friday, January 8th at 9:30 am. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local food bank or the charity of your choice.
