On Tuesday, January 5, 2016 Marie Beatrice Orser of Fredericton, NB completed her earthly journey and is now in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Marie passed away peacefully at York Care Centre, Fredericton, at the age of 97. Born in Florenceville, NB she was a daughter of the late Ray and Amy (Fields) Hatheway.
Marie was a great woman of faith and loved the Lord with all her heart, soul and mind. She was a member of Capital Community Church, Fredericton. She was a gifted pianist and would often play for her late father at his church and was pianist at the Marysville United Pentecostal Church for many years. Marie also volunteered at Pine Grove Nursing Home for a number of years.
Her beloved husband, Eugene Shaw Orser predeceased her in 2001. She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Michael Orser (Marjorie) of Napadogan, NB, Sheila Kingsley (Ross) of Petawawa, ON and Beverley McAffee (Allan) of Moncton, NB. Her seven grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren always held a special place in her heart. Marie is also survived by a brother Garth Hatheway (Phoebe) of Centerville, NB; a number of nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents and husband, Marie was predeceased by an infant son Garry Eugene Orser; a brother Ora Hatheway and sisters Wanda Tompkins, Audrey Prosser and Zola Currie.
The family of Marie Orser will receive condolences at Bishop’s Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Road, Fredericton on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM. A service celebrating the life of Marie Orser will be held Sunday, January 10, 2016 at 3:00 PM from Capital Community Church, 71 Downing St., Fredericton with Rev. Raymond Woodward officiating. Pallbearers for the service will be Tony McAffee, Kathy King, Colleen Paradis, Leland, Dwayne and Laurel Walton. Interment in the Dayton Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions to Capital Community Church (Home Missions Department) would be appreciated by the family.
