Lowthers, Donald “Donnie” Murray, age 67, of Newport Station, Hants County, passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at home. Born on August 27, 1948 in Windsor, he was the son of Ileen (Macumber) and the late Murray Lowthers. Donnie retired from the Department of Transportation after thirty plus years. He loved a good chat with friends and family and will be missed dearly by many. He always had a smile on his face and was familiar face at the Hants County Exhibitions. Donnie loved going to the camp with the boys. Surviving are the mother of his children, (Cheryl Lowthers), Windsor; son, James Lowthers, Lower Sackville (Jo-Ann MacLellan, Truro); daughters, Lori-Anne Lowthers (Chris Veinotte), Chester; Karen (Matthew) Williams, Newport Station; grandchildren, Cody Armstrong, step-grandchildren, Hunter and Autumn Veinotte; special friend, Muriel Brown, Garlands Crossing; brothers, David (Patricia), Newport Station; Kenneth (Susan), Three Mile Plains; sisters, Doreen (John) Cole, Aylesford; Betty (Eric ) Johnson, Windsor; Donna (Jim) Thibodeau, Upper Sackville; several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father, Murray (July 27,1984). Visitation was 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home (902-798-2232) 194 King Street, Windsor. Memorial service was held 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 13, 2016 in Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bill Gibson officiated. Interment was in Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix.
