WAGG, MARIE VESTA
It is with great sadness to announce the passing of Maria Vesta (Dyer) Wagg, wife of the late Cecil Wagg, which occurred peacefully in the company of the special and caring staff and residents of the Carleton Kirk Lodge, Marlene Leaver and Wilkie and her earth angel Kathy Taylor on January 11, 2016. Born November 7, 1922 in Bath, NB, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Jessie (Broad) Dyer.
Marie is the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her parents and sister Pearl Simpson.
Marie is survived by her extended family, Larry and Louise Maxwell, several cousins and nephews as well as Rev. Chris Hague and the dedicated and caring staff of Carleton Kirk Lodge.
For all those who knew Marie she will be remembered for her natural charisma, her stylist wardrobe including her scarfs, pins and earrings, her generosity, her kind heart, love of life, charm, her keen wit and wonderful sense of humor. Marie took great comfort in her faith. She travelled to Jerusalem, Hawaii, Australia, and the US spending many winters in Florida and many other destinations in US and Canada. She brightened everyone’s day. She will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all. She was a special lady.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB. (506-634-1701). By her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A private interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery, Sand Cove Road in the spring.
Donations in Marie's memory may be made to the Carleton Kirk Church or Lodge, SPCA or charity of choice.
