We, the family, regret to announce the passing of Georgina McDonald on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016 at Taigh Na Mara.
Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late George and Theresa (Lamont) Layes.
Mom was a nursery school teacher at Sterling Nursery School. She loved to sing and perform and was a member of the Coal Town Chorus.
She is survived by her children, Robert (Anne), Merna (Ralph); grandchildren, Sean, Lisa, Keith and Brian; one great-grandchild, Nikki.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Murray; several siblings.
There is no visitation or funeral service by Georgina’s request. Cremation is under the care and guidance of Curry’s Funeral Home, 775 Main St., Glace Bay. There will be an interment at St Anne’s Cemetery at a later date.
