CONNELL, Peggy Lee (nee Higgins) – 62 of Middleton went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 17, 2016 in Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Digby on May 13, 1953 to the late Mildred Jefferson (nee Andrews) and the late Melvin Higgins. Peggy will be remembered by her children as being a very hard working and loving mother. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly (Kevin) Thorlakson, Saskatchewan and son Kory Connell, New Brunswick; brother Sherman “Mike”(Bonnie) Higgins, Kingston, NS; sisters Hilda Patterson, B.C., Debbie (Cecil) Carter, Amherst, Angela “Holly” MacKenzie (Claude Vaillancourt), New Albany; granddaughters Kayla Connell, Karman Ells, Sydney Ells and Aislinn Ells. Peggy was predeceased by her brother Paul Higgins. Visitation was held Friday, January 22 in the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. The funeral service was held Saturday, January 23 in the Middleton Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Smith officiating. A reception followed in the Family Life Centre, Middleton Baptist Church.
