Edwin Albert Spenst
October 5, 1922 ~ January 18, 2016

Ed passed away peacefully at the Dr. F. H. Wigmore Regional Hospital in Moose Jaw, SK after a short illness. He was born in Cadillac, SK. The family moved to Meadow Lake, SK when he was a youngster and lived in Meadow Lake until he enlisted in the Canadian Army during WW2. He spent the last six months of the war in Holland. After the war Ed moved to Moose Jaw where he met and married the love of his life Merle Stevenson. Ed and Merle were together for 66 years until Merle passed away on February 4, 2015. Ed was very well known in Moose Jaw where he worked as an automotive mechanic until his retirement. Ed was an avid golfer and also enjoyed refereeing wrestling matches when he was younger. He was a member in good standing at the Legion and enjoyed the camaraderie with the members. Ed is survived by one brother Jim, one sister Nellie, many nieces and nephews and long-time friends at the Legion. Ed requested that there be no funeral service. Ed and Merle will be interred in the veteran's section at Rosedale Cemetery at a later date.
