WICKENS, Anne Gordon, 87, Barrington, formerly of Bear Point. It is with great sadness the family announce the passing of their beloved, mother, nan, and great-grandmother on January 21, 2016. Anne was born at Grace Maternity Hospital, March 3, 1928 to Evelyn May (Fox) and LC Morrill Richardson. After childhood at Bon Portage Island Lighthouse Station she attended high school at Bedford and Teachers Normal College in Truro. She excelled with her studies. She became a teacher at Barrington High School. Anne was an avid reader as her mom was an author. Anne loved stories of Bon Portage Island. She is survived by her four sons, Laurie “Dickie” (Marsha), Arthur “Arlie” (Legna), Morrill, Tina, Douglas, Paula; sister, Betty Jane, Villagedale; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great grandchildren. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Arthur; brother, Laurie; grandsons, Sgt. Kirk Taylor and Ward Wickens. Funeral service was held Sunday, January 24 at the H. M Huskilson’s Memorial Chapel, Barrington, with Pastor Cindy Dunnett officiating. In lieu of flowers you are encouraged to pay it forward and be kind. Anne was a selfless person that truly put others before herself ; in her memory do something nice for each other.
