It is with great sadness that the family of the late Melissa Jane Bennett (nee Dean) announce her passing on Monday, January 25, 2016 at the age of 70 years. She will be greatly missed by her loving husband of 52 years, David; her eight sons: David, Ches, Bill (Dana), Roger, Lennie (Pam), Jamie (Victor), Dwayne and Jody (Chantelle); her five daughters: Tammie (Murdock), Lisa (Dylmer), Tina (Peter), Kathy (Greg) and Dianna (Scott). Melissa will be missed by a large number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends. She will also be missed by brothers Anthony (Karen) and Leonard; sisters Bev and Lila (Doug) of Nova Scotia. She is predeceased by her son Gregory Dean (2001); father Lester (2001); mother Ethel (2015) and brother Leland. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road on Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will take place on Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 2 pm from Country Haven Funeral Chapel, with Eric Lockhart and Daniel Newman officiating. Interment will follow at the Non-Denominational Cemetery, Batstone's Road. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted or donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
