1919 – 2016
Hermine Cormier, 96, of Saint-Paul, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at the Moncton Hospital on Sunday January 24, 2016. She was married to the late Arthur Cormier (1996) and her second husband the late Pierre Daigle (2006). Born in Minto, she was the daughter of the late Gilbert and the late Marie-Anne (Cormier) Richard.
She was a school teacher, and became a writer/poet after retirement. She was a member of the Saint-Paul Golden Age Club and the SERF (retired school teachers association).
She will be sadly missed by her eight children; Andréa LeBlanc (Emery), Rosalice LeBlanc (Louis) of Sainte-Marie-de-Kent, Viola Cormier of Riverview, Diana Cormier, Huberte Roy of Moncton, Annette Gallagher (Billy) of Canaan Station, Félix and Euclide (Marie-Reine) of Saint-Paul, twenty six grandchildren and thirty great grandchildren. She also leaves to mourn two sisters; Assunta Blacquière of Minto, Marie-Jeanne Caissie of Moncton and several nephews and nieces.
She was predeceased by three sons, Oscar, Aldérice and Clarence, one sister Lorette and four brothers, Jean-Baptiste, Désiré, Dorice and Lionel.
Visitations will be held at the Saint-Paul Roman Catholic Church Slumber Room, Saint-Paul on Wednesday January 27, 2016 from 7 to 9 and on Thursday from 2 to 3:45 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at the Saint-Paul Church on Thursday January 28, 2016 at 4:00 pm with interment in the parish cemetery in the spring.
In Hermine’s memory donations may be made to her grandson Edmond Cormier (506- 609-4023 Solange).
