Eugene Joseph "Tony" Smith

Eugene Joseph “Tony” Smith – 65 of Vimy Road, Bible Hill, passed away in QEII Halifax Infirmary on January 21st, 2016. Born in Chatham, N.B., he was the son of Fred and Margaret Smith. Tony was a well-travelled truck driver who shared a story and a laugh with all of those whom he met. He was always willing to lend a helping hand and was so proud of the new drivers he helped to train. He will be sadly missed by all who loved him. Tony, we will think of you with a smile every time a big rig goes down the road. 10-4 Big Buddy. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro. He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Marie Smith; daughters, Mary Webb (Jamie) and Wendy MacLean; sons, Brian Smith, Paul MacLean (Natasha), Jeff MacLean (Sherry); sisters, Colleen Pozer (Kenny), Karen Daley (Andy); brother, John Smith; sister in law, Christine Smith. Tony is also survived by twelve grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins as well as mother, Margaret Smith.He was predeceased by his young brother, Terry Smith and father, Fred Smith. Visitation for Tony will be held on Friday, January 29th, 2016 from 1pm-1:45pm with the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26 conducting a tribute service at 1:45pm. Funeral Service will follow at 2pm all in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. Reception will follow. Donations in Tony’s memory made be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association.
