Stuart "Merlin" Turner

Turner, Stuart “Merlin” - 81, Westphal, passed away surrounded by family on January 25, 2016 in the Magnolia Nursing Home, Enfield. Born in Westphal, he was the son of the late George and Gladys (Kuhn) Turner. Merlin was an avid horseman, a second generation harness racer, as well as a trainer. He was a great story teller and will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Carol (Kennedy), Truro; son, Darren Turner (Marie), Quebec; daughters, Darla Turner (Kim), Mt. Uniacke, Georgette Chandler (Jim), Valley; brother, Ronald (Joan) Turner, Westphal; grandchildren, Kerri-Leigh Ross, Dylan Johnson, Brooke Chandler, Carolyne Turner; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Brian Provo. Besides his parents he was predeceased by sister, Shirley Turner; nephew, David Michael Turner. Cremation has taken place. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, January 30 from 1-4 p.m. in the Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow Street, Truro. Interment in Bible Hill Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia. The family would like to express their thanks to the VON and the care-givers at Magnolia Nursing Home.
