Josephine Currie

Currie, Josephine “Jo” E.
It is with sad hearts that the family of Josephine “Jo” Evelyn Currie, of Mactaquac, NB, announce her sudden passing on Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton. Jo was 97 years young.
Born at Limestone, Maine, USA on September 16, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Christopher B. and Flora B. (Roberts) Hussey.
Jo loved to spend time in the great outdoors, was an avid gardener and enjoyed going camping with her best friend and husband, Russell E. Currie who predeceased her in 2000.
Many charitable organizations will remember Jo for her generosity and charitable nature. Jo possessed a giving heart and was always ready to lend a helping hand and was well known for her beautiful knitting.
Jo leaves behind a son, Andrew Currie of Fredericton; a special nephew and niece, Ronnie and Judy Cheevers of Mactaquac as well as other nieces and nephews.
Aside from her parents and her husband Russell, she was predeceased by a brother, George A. Hussey.
In keeping with Jo’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A graveside committal service will be held at the Mactaquac Baptist Cemetery in the Spring.
Jo requested that memorial contributions be sent to The Salvation Army Fredericton Community Church, 531 St. Mary's Street, Fredericton, NB E3A 8H4
