It is with heartfelt sorrow that we, the family, announce the passing of Eddy MacLean, 59, of New Waterford on Feb. 17, 2016.
Born in New Waterford, he was a son of 'Miss' Betty (Stepaniak) and the late Lester MacLean.
Eddy was employed with Devco for 25 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing at his favourite spot in Gabarus. Eddy especially loved his family, namely his grandson Ryan, who was like a best buddy to him.
Surviving are his wife, Cheryl 'Cherie' (MacPherson); daughters, Renee, New Waterford and Jacklyn, Kelowna, B.C.; son, David (Kelly), Port Elgin, Ont; brother, Ernie, Calgary; sisters, Cynthia (Bryan) Micholski, Celeste MacLean (Ronnie), both of New Waterford, Cheryl (Greg) Lynch, Tiburon, Calif., Charlene MacLean, Tara Lynn MacLean, both of Calgary; grandchildren, Ryan, Eva, and Avery.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place under the care and direction of V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home, 380 Smith St., New Waterford. A funeral mass of celebration will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. in the Parish Church of St. Leonard, Mount Carmel Avenue, with Fr. Ray Huntley officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall, King Street, New Waterford.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia.
