Passed peacefully away at Tiffany Village in St. John's, NL on February 21, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with treasured memories her daughters Linda Praetorius (Mike), Barbara Kennedy, Diane Baillargeon (David) and son Paul Snelgrove (Mary), grandchildren Steven and Michael Capp, Lori, Lisa and Ryan Kennedy, David and Peter Fowler, Rebecca, Becky and Rischelle Baillargeon, Richard Canning, Joshua, Zachary and Rachel Snelgrove, great-grandchildren Tyrah, Taryn, Talya and Kyleigh Capp, and Samantha Capp, sisters Julie Hillier, Eva Donnelly and Nellie Porter and brother Jerry Decker, along with a very large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by husband Reginald, her parents Eric and Edna Decker, sisters Rhoda Fost and Dorcas Penny and brother Lloyd Decker. Sybil was born in Cooks Harbour, NL and spent parts of her young adult life in Main Brook and Hearts Delight. During her time in Main Brook, she met and married Reginald Snelgrove from Grates Cove, NL. They moved to Happy Valley-Goose Bay, NL, where they were successful business people and raised their family before retiring in St. John's, NL. Visitation will take place at Barrett's Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue, St. John's, NL on Tuesday, February 23, 2016, from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service will be held at Barrett's Chapel on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 2 pm. Interment will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
