Cody Alexander Glode Cody Alexander Glode

It tears our hearts apart to announce the tragic death of our son, Cody Alexander Glode. He is finally at peace in the arms of our savior, Jesus Christ.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Homer Bernard Brinen, maternal grandfather, Gordon Alexander Devenne, and a very special aunt, Adelle M. Coffin and uncle, Bruce Devenne, Paternal grandparents, Jessie-lee and Edgar Fernandez and Uncle Bill Pictou.

Cody is survived by his parents, Matthew and Lisa Glode, brothers Christopher, Shawn, Ty, his sister Caitlin and niece, Piper. Maternal Grandparents Larry and Debbie Brinen, Paternal grandparents Alphonse and Patricia Glode. Maternal Great-grandmothers Doris Devenne and Gloria Brinen. Cody had lots of aunts, uncles and cousins who loved him dearly. He left behind the love of his life, Charise Mcdonald. Lots of friends including special friends, Brennan Googoo and Ethan Green and many others.

Cody was a full-time firefighter with the Truro Fire Service. He was the only Mi’kmaw Officer with the Truro Detachment and was hired at the young age of 19. The boys at the fire department welcomed the talented young man with open arms, as one of their own.
Cody’s true passion was MMA.
He was extremely dedicated and disciplined in his training at Marmac. He was so blessed to have been trained by Micky Marshall to whom Cody looked up to and admired greatly. Micky and Dan Vanderlans had a huge part of shaping and molding Cody’s young life, guiding him as he evolved into an admiral young man. Dan was always in his corner surrounding him with words of wisdom and prayer. Special thanks to Jen, Ellen, Scott, Brent, Georgia, Isaiah and the entire Marmac family.

Cody loved his family and was never too old to tell them he loved them or that he needed a hug.

We love you Cody Bear and know that you are home with Jesus.

As a nation, we need to pray and work towards breaking the never ending cycle of suicide amongst our youth in First Nation communities and the world as a whole.
