Clayton Everett Moss

MOSS, Clayton Everett – 96, Truro, passed away peacefully Thursday, February 25, 2016, in the Veterans Unit of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, Toronto. Born in Tracadie, he was a son of the late Percy and Georgina (Elms) Moss. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Florence “Ponnie” May Moss (Williams) with whom he is now reunited. He was also predeceased by his brothers, Harold and Percy Jr.; sister, Leona (Herb) Oliver; son-in-law, Paul Wilson, Sr. He is survived by his daughter, Judy May Wilson (Moss), Windsor, Ontario; son, Richard Clayton (Ruth) Moss, Australia; brother-in-law, Peter Maxwell, Halifax; grandchildren, Rev. Paul Clayton Wilson, Jr. (Shirley), Perry Wilson, Pamela Murray (Wilson), Paula Wilson, Beverly Wilson, Lisa (Moss) Godin (Rob) and Dino (Elaine) Adams. Clayton also leaves behind eleven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Clayton was a war veteran who served overseas with Royal Canadian Engineers in the Second World War and was an adherent of Zion Baptist Church. Special thanks to the staff of Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre for taking great care of our beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and uncle as he entered his later years. Their exceptional care allowed his last years to be spent happily with dignity. Arrangements have been entrusted to Mattatall - Varner Funeral Home, 55 Young Street, Truro, where Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 26, Truro, will conduct a Legion Tribute Service at 5:45 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016. Clayton’s family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2016, and funeral service 1 p.m., Saturday, March 12, 2016, also at the funeral home, Pastor Paul Wilson officiating. Reception will follow. Private interment in Robie Street Cemetery. If so desired, donations in Clayton’s memory to Zion United Baptist Church are welcomed.
