We, the family of Dorothy Anne Vardy, 73, of Louisbourg, regret to announce her passing on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.
Born in Louisbourg on July 17, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Hildegard (Kehoe) MacKeigan.
She is survived by her three children, Curtis, Dexter, Cavelle (Frankie); granddaughter, Alexis; brothers, George and Raymond.
Besides her parents, Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Sam; her sister, Monica and her brother, Allison.
Dorothy was an incredibly shy person, who was most happy when being kind to animals.
As she would have wanted there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Burial will be held at a later date in Stella Maris Parish Cemetery.
