CARNIE, GRACE
1922 - 2016
Tabusintac, N.B. - Grace Carnie, wife of Frederick Carnie, of the Tabusintac Nursing Home and formerly of Old Manse Road, Tabusintac, passed away at her residence on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at the age of 93. Born in London, England, on May 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Hulbert and I. Kate (Prout) Boamont.
She was a homemaker and before retirement, the co-owner of Grace’s Nursing Home, in Burlington, Ont.; she attended the former Wellington Street Baptist Church, Miramichi.
She was a Veteran of the Second World War, serving from 1942-46 with the Land Army British Force.
She is survived by her husband, Frederick Carnie; one son, Richard Carnie (Linda), of Holland Landing, Ont.; one nephew, Paul Rapsey, of England. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visiting will be held at Adams Funeral Home Ltd., 140 King St., Miramichi, on Friday, March 18, 2016, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral service will be held from Adams Funeral Home chapel on Saturday, March 19, 2016, at 2 pm, conducted by Rev. Cecil Symes. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Tabusintac.
As expressions of sympathy, donations to any charity of the donors’ choice would be appreciated by the family.
