FOX, John Stannage Henry – 89 of Middleton, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2016 at Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Middleton. Born in Halifax, he was the son of the late Vivian and Charlotte “Lottie” (Halliday) Fox. John served with the RCAF as a radio operator, deciphering Morse Code during the Second World War. He was retired from the N.S.L.C. and was a former member of the Middleton Volunteer Fire Department. John made many friends both at work and while lobster fishing at Margaretsville.Everyone was welcome to the fish house to relax to the Big Band sound of Duke Ellington or jazz legend, Peter Appleyard, with a refreshing beverage. John is survived by his wife the former Oriel Ferne Bishop. At his request, cremation has taken place. A private graveside service will be held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Middleton at a later date with a portion of his ashes to be scattered on the shore of the Bay of Fundy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Middleton Funeral Home, 398 Main St., (902) 825-3448. Donations in memory may be made to the Charity of Choice.
