Lawrence Rayworth

Rayworth, Lawrence McLellan (Larry)
November 16, 1919 - March 9, 2016
It is with great sadness that his family announces the passing of our cherished father, grandfather and great-grandfather who gas gone to join his beloved wife, Sara (2008).  Larry is predeceased by his parents J. Herbert and Jeanette Rayworth and siblings Helen (Art), Gordon (Eliza), Jean (Don), Cedric (Isabella), and Leah (John).  He is survived by his two children, Judith (James), and John (Elizabeth), his grandchildren Allison (Robert), Andrea (Erich), Jennifer (Przemek), Christine (Vick), Sommer (Adam), and his adored great-grandchildren Ryan, Matthew, Sophie, Anouska, Kai and Charlie. Larry was born on the family farm in Upper Cape, New Brunswick. He completed his high school education in Moncton, New Brunswick and began his financial training with the Royal Bank. He served in the Royal Canadian Army Pay Corps as Major during World War II.  After the war, Larry continued with his investment counselling before being transferred to Burlington in 1957. After a number of years, he bought a sheet metal business and, working with his son John, applied his knowledge of how to run a business to this venture. Upon retirement, Larry and Sara spent many winters in Fort Myers, Florida, enjoying the company of friends, the weather and growing an abundance of grapefruit and oranges.  Larry was a dedicated family man.  He visited his Maritime relatives each summer every year of his life.  Larry was kind and generous, a real gentleman who always saw the best in all he met.  He had a long life, well lived.
Cremation has taken place.  Visitation and funeral service were held in Burlington, Ontario.
