It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of George Walter Dodd on Friday, March 18, 2016 at the age of 89 years. Leaving to mourn his loving wife of 63 years Valerie, his daughters: Debbie (Baxter), Wendy-Jo (Sam) and Robyn (Bryan); grandchildren: Zack (Roxanne), Kristi (Tyler), Courtney (Dexter), Samantha (Andrew), Kylie (Todd) and Julia; great grandchildren: Madison and Ava. Also leaving to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews, family and friends. The Dodd family would like to thank the Palliative Care Unit of the Miller Center for their compassion and care. At George's request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Barrett's Funeral Home 73 Commonwealth Ave, Mt. Pearl on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral service will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. from Barrett's Chapel. Interment to follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery. George was a member of the Mt. Pearl Lion's Club for over 50 years, to honor his dedication, donations may be made in his memory to the Lion Max Simms Memorial Camp.
