Passed peacefully away on Sunday, March 20, 2016 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle against cancer. Born October 15, 1949. Predeceased by his parents Joseph and Margaret Lacey, sister Genevieve Walsh and brother Alfred Lacey, parents-in-law Gus and Ellen Murphy. Leaving to mourn his loving and devoted wife of 42 years Mary (Murphy) who has spent the last few months caring and tending to his every need, daughters Corrina Martin (Brian), Angela Lacey (Rick Thorne) and son Blair Lacey (Amanda). Also leaving to mourn are his grandchildren his pride and joy and reasons for fighting so hard to the end, his two buds Austin and Kyle and two little women Sophie and Anna, brothers Joe (Gail) in Namino, BC, Jim (Sue), sister Regina Lacey, brother-in-law Ron Walsh, sister-in-law Margaret Lacey, brothers-in-law Leo Murphy (Elaine), Syl Murphy (Sheila) and Paddy Murphy, sister-in-law Veronica Thistle (Junior) as well as several loving nieces and nephews that all had special bonds with uncle Gus, especially Ronnie Walsh (also known as Mildred to Gus) and many special friends that have always been there through the good times and bad ... too many to mention but you all know who you are. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, Torbay. Visitation on Monday from 4-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will take place 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 from Holy Trinity Church with cremation to follow. Flowers are gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Centre.
