Clovis Hachey

HACHEY, CLOVIS
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Clovis J. Hachey, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 20, 2016 in the palliative care unit at the Moncton Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB on March 2nd, 1942, he was the son of the late Alexander and Genevieve (Noel) Haché.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Doreen and brothers Leo and Richard.
Clovie started and ran the Loch Lomond Fundy sports and recreation and he also coached for Loch Lomond School Boy Hockey. He worked and retired from CNR in 1996 after 36 years of service. He was also a licensed carpenter, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #9270 and the Airforce Veterans Club in Riverview. He loved playing pool, darts, cards and dancing. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He was a devoted husband and father, who touched many lives and will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda; sons, Maurice, Alex, Keith (Sue), Daryl; daughters, Annette, Bernice, Simone (Peter); grandchildren Kate-Lynn (Andrew), Brooke, Tim, Melissa, Marcus, Kelly; great-grandchild, Maliyah; brothers, Jeremie (Germaine), Charles, David (Susan), Levi (Linda), Patrick (Theresa), George (Francine), Gerard (Susan); sisters, Helen, Juliette (Aubrey), Elizabeth (Tony), Linda, Sheila (Arnold), Mary, Geralda; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John, (506)646-2424, today, Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 2 to 8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Joachim's Church, 603 Loch Lomond Rd, Saint John, on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at 12 p.m. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. In addition, a commemorative mass will also be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 5 Fatima Dr, Riverview, on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 9 a.m.
Remembrances in memory of Clovie may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Fair Haven Funeral Home and Cemetery (506)852-3530.
