Storey, Lorraine
Lorraine Storey of 308 Main Street, Doaktown peacefully passed away at her residence on March 21, 2016 after a long courageous battle with COPD. Born in Woodstock on November 25, 1947. She is survived by two sons Mark (Karen) of Burton and Brian of Quispamsis. She is also survived by 3 brothers and one sister, six grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by three very special friends Anna Mae, Brenda and Betty Lou.
She was predeceased by her parents Lewis and Evelyn Foster, three brothers, her partner Orran Holmes (Jr) and special friend Floris.
Lorraine was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Br#23 Doaktown where she served as president. Also a member of the Upper Miramichi Lions Club where she served as treasurer for a number of years. She called Bingo for years at the Doaktown and Boiestown Legion as well as the Lions Club. She worked as a tree planter for J.D.Irving until her retirement. She loved animals, flowers, and gardening, playing darts and card games. She also loved having visitors and spending time with family and friends.
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten. Visitation will take place at the Wesleyn Church Main Street, Doaktown on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. There will be a Lions Memorial Service at 6:45 and all are invited to attend.
Funeral service will be held from the Wesleyn church on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at the Wesleyn Church Cemetery, South Road at a later date.
Honorary Pallbearers are Anna Mae, Brenda, Betty Lou, Rita, Amelia, Allanda, Cassie, Marjorie, Lois, Mary Jane, Marilyn and Arlene.
Donations in Lorraine’s memory may be made to the Wesleyn Church Building Fund or The Upper Miramichi Lions Club.
