Elizabeth Frances “Betty” Jennings, March 9, 1930 – March 25, 2016, age 86, of Pictou and formerly of Durham, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family in the Palliative Care Unit of the Aberdeen Hospital, New Glasgow. 
Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Francis Carroll. 
Mom’s greatest joy was her family, and particularly her children and grandchildren.  She loved to have visitors and shared and caused much laughter. 
She is survived by her children, John (Karen), Three Brooks and Mary, Pictou – her primary caregiver of many years; grandchildren, Matthew (Kyla) and Katie (Nathan); great-grandchild, Avery, whom she loved to see; sisters, Dollie, Helen and Marguerite, all of Dartmouth; brothers, Charlie (Joan), Dartmouth and Johnny (Joan), Saltsprings; sister-in-law, Carol, Dartmouth; brothers-in-law, Vince, Dartmouth and Charlie Jennings, Bala, Ontario; numerous nieces and nephews.  
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Avery; sisters, Irene, Joyce, and Barbara; brothers, George, Billy, and Teddy.
Visitation will be on Monday, March 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
Funeral Service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 29th, with Rev. Ryan King officiating, both in McLaren Funeral Home, Pictou.  Burial will be at Heatherdale Memorial Gardens. 
Flowers welcome or donations in her memory may be made to the VON or the Aberdeen Palliative Care Society. 
A special thank-you to Dr. Kaiprath, the nursing staff of the ER, 4th floor and Palliative Care Unit, and to Dr. Farrell; and finally to the many CCA’s, LPN’s and RN’s who were so kind to Mom during her illness; it is greatly appreciated.
