Murphy, Vera Elizabeth (MacKenzie) -age 84, Truro
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of our
dear mother on March 26th, 2016 in Colchester East Hants Health Centre,
Truro, with her family by her side. Vera was born February 8, 1932 in West
Branch, Pictou County and was the daughter of the late John J. and Ada
MacKenzie. She is survived by daughters, Rosalie (Fred) Metzler, Anita
(Dave) Richards, Gloria (Jeff) Baker, Elaine (Doug) McNutt, Deborah (Marc)
Masse, Cathy (Lenny) Dennis; son, Arthur (Lisa); loving grandmother to 21
grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Clyde (Lorraine)
MacKenzie; daughter-in-law, Maxine Murphy; sister-in-law, Winnie (Curtis)
MacKinnon; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband,
Arthur Murphy; son, John; daughter, Carol (Kersley); brothers, J.R. (Sadie)
and Clarence (Dorothy); sisters, Eleanor (Ernie) Forbes, Lena (Ron) Kelly.
Cremation has taken place with no visitation by her request. A Memorial
Service will be held on Tuesday, March 29th at 2pm in Colchester Community
Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro. In lieu of flowers, donations may be
made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke
Foundation of Nova Scotia. Special thanks to the Palliative Care staff and
