1954 - 2016
Janey (Jane) Marilyn Smith, 61, of Weldon passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 at the Moncton Hospital with her loving family by her side. Janey was born in Hebron, NB on July 1st, 1954 the daughter of the late Carl Gordon Butland and Ethel (Collins) Butland of Riverside-Albert.
Janey was a member of the United Church of Canada. She previously worked at Sameday Right Away and her dad’s general store. She has been working along side her husband operating their Company, All Weys Doors, since 1993. Janey had a love of country music, singing, playing piano and guitar, as well as attending many music nights. She was her husbands largest support and biggest fan whenever he practiced his music. She enjoyed travelling and spending time at their camp in Alma. She was an avid NASCAR and baseball fan. Her favourite driver was Jeff Gordon #24 and she always cheered for the Toronto Blue Jays. Janey was always the life of the party and she had a great sense of humour. She had a special place in her heart for animals and especially for her dog “Shylo”. She loved her family and treasured her time spent with her boys and grandchildren. “Sweet Memories Cling”.
She will be deeply missed by her mother, Ethel Butland of Riverside-Albert; her best friend and husband, David Smith; her boys; Travis Smith (Nancy) of Weldon and Trevor Smith (Lori) of Edgett’s Landing; her precious grandchildren, Cody, Austin, Emma, Jenna, Amber and Jaymes; sister Donna Steeves (Gordon) of Hopewell Hill; brothers, James Butland (Petra) of Elgin, Carl Grant Butland (Chrystal) of Hillsborough and Eric Butland (Brenda) of Weldon. She will also be missed by Cindy Harpell (mother of grandsons, Cody and Austin) and by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, David's family and her extended family.
A private Graveside Service with Family and Close Friends will be held at the Alma United Cemetery, Alma with Rev. Carol Mullin officiating.
Donations may be made in support of the Canadian Cancer Society.
